Yen Yen Wu

Director

Yen Yen Wu is a registered Architect in Singapore and founding Director of Genome Architects. Upon graduation from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) with a Master of Architecture, she received an Award for Excellence in Design for the duration of her degree.

Yen has showcased her work at and spoken as invited panelist at SIA Archifest events, Board of Architects seminars and NUS Construe and Construct Speaker Series. She has published numerous articles in design publications and opinion pieces in the local press.

She has taught at the NUS Department of Architecture since 2009 where she is Adjunct Assistant Professor. Outside of practice and academia, Yen Yen continues to bite off more than she can chew, serving as Council Member at the Singapore Institute of Architects since 2016, Co-Chair of Design Thrust since 2017, Honorary Treasurer in 2019 and 2nd Vice President from 2020 to 2023.

Weiling Teo

Associate Architect

Weiling joined Genome Architects in 2012 and qualified as an architect in 2017.

In 2019, Weiling made Associate, after having worked on several residential projects, then moving on to focus mainly on larger scale public and private civic projects, including the award winning Visitor Kiosk and Boardwalk at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Her innate interest in design detailing and innovation is recognised in her Master of Architecture thesis project at National University of Singapore, awarded “Award of Prestige (1st Prize)” at the International Tropical Architecture Design Competition organized by BCA, SIA and SGBC in 2012. An avid cyclist, Weiling’s free time is spent on her wheels and trekking.

Hern Lit Koh

Architectural Executive

Hern Lit joined Genome Architects in 2017, after having worked for 3 years since graduation from Deakin University, Australia, with a Master of Architecture.

He has worked on condominiums and industrial projects, later honing his design skills on bespoke residences and commercial interiors. Hern Lit’s interest and experience in BCA Green Mark and Buildable Design has been an asset to the team. The resident technical go-to team member, Hern Lit spends his free time dabbling in Bonsai, photography and hunting for good food.

Sarah Chan

Architectural Executive

Sarah joined Genome Architects in 2023, after graduating from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Architecture in the same year.

Sarah’s journey in architecture is marked by an interest in innovative urban design, sustainable materials, and community-focused spaces. Before joining Genome, she had assisted in several infrastructure and upgrading transport projects across Singapore.

In her free time, Sarah immerses herself in the world of textile crafts and gouache painting.

Hui Ling Loh

Architectural Technical Executive

With more than 20 years of experience in building authorities and compliance, Hui Ling is a critical member instrumental to many of our projects since its founding. Although she maintains her freelance autonomy (to master the art of origami), she is is our knowledge base and forms the foundation upon which our buildings take form.

Low Pei Ying

Senior Design Executive

Pei Ying is a design strategist, facilities administrator and an environmental advocate. Her design venture begins at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) where she was awarded a Diploma with Merit in Interior Design in 2011. In 2015, Pei Ying graduated from Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and University of Glasgow (UOG) with Bachelor Degrees in Interior Design with Honours (Distinction). In addition to her academic achievements, she also won the Singapore Design Awards in 2015 organized by Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS).

Pei Ying holds great interest in exploring the boundary between design and functionality. Hence, in 2022 she decided to pursue a postgraduate diploma course at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) in Facilities Management where she excelled and achieved distinctions. In 2024, she is poised to receive official certification as a Fire Safety Manager and Water Efficiency Manager.

Pei Ying is an accredited professional Interior Design Practitioner – Class 1 (ID1) certified by Singapore Interior Design Accreditation Council (SIDAC). Her diverse skillset and technical competencies enable her to innovate and explore the intersectionality between design and building technology. She specializes in residential projects (Addition & Alteration) and commercial interiors (Food & Beverage and Retail).

Beyond her professional pursuits, Pei Ying takes delight in handicrafts showcasing high levels of dexterity and precision in the art of making.
