imPAct @ Hong Lim Green is today a place made for people to come together – it is the first specialised community center (CC) to be custom designed for PMETs with an integrated cross fit, gym, yoga and seminar rooms services. Being the first of such specialist CC, the client, People’s Association (PA), asked for a strong architectural branding and identity.

Key Interventions:

1. Increase the porosity of the facade

This was done by introducing full height glass windows into activity spaces such as the gym and cafe. The block-shaped walls were clad with lightweight metal sheets and the characteristic volumes highlighted through night lighting.

2. Strategic Signage on Façade

Eye-catching signages are painted along the refurbished façade, including the roof, which is visible from the tall buildings surrounding the site.

3. Flexible use of space through Open Plan Exercise areas
4. Activating outdoor spaces
5. Enhancing connectivity to its surroundings

Multiple points of entry catering to users arriving from different modes of transport (trains, bus, cycle, walk etc)
